Sara and Brodi–did you notice the “no pants” motif in the Superbowl ads this year and realize that I was ahead of the curve? I’m a trendsetter like that.

Kaylie–Vegas does seem to cater to the Barry fans, eh? Which is all the better for me and the rest of the Barry Committee (two people).

So glad you liked the book! I think being honest in our writing is one of the hardest things to do as writers. Are you coming to the Writing for Young Readers conference this summer?

So I already commented on this post, but I have more to say. I just finished The Way He Lived and was really, really impressed. I thought the book was just about flawless. Also, I wanted to thank you for your honesty. You wrote about some difficult topics in a sensitive way. That gives me an extra boost of courage to be honest in my own writing. Great job!

When I was in Vegas, it seemed like they were throwing Barry a big party because he was leaving one casino, and then throwing him another ’cause he was moving his act somewhere else. So the Fanilows will be twice as happy.
